THE DEVELOPMENT

PLP Port Salford is a proposed new 5 million sq ft multi modal logistics hub served by road, rail and water.

Phase 1 is already home to two modern logistics facilities developed by PLP.

PS280, a design and build, 280,000 sq ft logistics unit was constructed in 2016 for Great Bear logistics, part of the Culina Group.

PS50, a design and build facility of 50,000 sq ft including 10,000 sq ft of offices was constructed in 2017 for Rhenus Logistics to operate as their regional headquarters.

The remainder of the 1.5 million sq ft outline planning consent in Phase 1 can be brought forward for occupiers on a build to suit basis.

Phase 2 of the scheme totalling a further 3.5 million sq ft will make this arguably the most significant development within the North West.

Location

PLP Port Salford is strategically located near Trafford Park industrial estate as well as key motorway routes including the M60 and the M62, placing it at the heart of the Greater Manchester connurbation.

The vision is for it to become a multi-modal location providing access to rail via a proposed new rail freight terminal and an inland container port situated on the Manchester Ship Canal enabling containers to be transported along the 37 mile canal to the Port of Liverpool and onward to global destinations by sea.
