PLP takes 2 of UK’s top 5 largest planning permissions

A recent survey by independent planning magazine Planning Resource has identified two PLP sites in its top five of the UK’s 100 largest commercial and industrial permissions.

Taking top spot is the mixed-use site Wirral Waters, on the site of the Birkenhead Docks in Merseyside.

Harworth Estates’ Logistics North is identified as the fifth largest commercial and industrial permission across the entire UK.

With 4m sq. ft of employment space consented in November 2013 on the site of the former Cutacre surface mine, the development is the second largest live industrial permission in the North West and is bigger than two of London’s key developments, King’s Cross Central and the redevelopment of the Greenwich Peninsula.

Aldi are already confirmed as anchor tenant on the site, with plans to move its regional distribution centre to a 35 acre plot on the site.  The remainder of the year will see construction works begin, creating a development platform for the development’s future units.

PLP offers nearly 6,000 acres of land across 66 key strategic sites throughout the United Kingdom. This portfolio of sites has the potential to deliver 60 million sq. ft. of new build space with a potential built investment value of over £4 billion.

PLP has the ability to deliver property solutions from a 10,000 sq. ft. distribution unit to a 1 million sq. ft. e-fulfilment centre in strategic locations across the UK.

The PLP offer, a holistic approach to the marketing and promotion of the Peel Group’s logistics interests, also includes those of Peel Ports and logistics sites available through a strategic alliance with Harworth Estates.
